One of the UK Trust’s greatest friends is our Patron, Lady Perry, with her illustrious career in education. It was after her time as Chief Inspector of Schools, while she was Vice Chancellor of South Bank University, that she got involved with South Africa and agreed to be our Patron. As a member of The House of Lords from 1991 – 2016 she championed education, amongst other causes, and visited St Marks College in 2013.
Other important Friends of St Marks originated from TSABA, an educational charity concerned with all Southern Africa, and several major UK Charitable Trusts who donated generously to the College during the apartheid era.
It is not only these grants which have helped over the years, but also the continuing donations and legacies of many individuals who have supported the College through the UK Trust time and again.
